The method comprises the following steps: processing an air-dried rattan cane into a rattan cane with the required size, and then placing the rattan cane withthe required size in a large beaker; placing a low-melting-point tin-bismuth-cadmium alloy block on the rattan cane; placing a small beaker with a heavy object on the alloy block and placing the smallbeaker with the heavy object, the alloy block and the rattan cane into a vacuum drying box together; heating until the alloy is fused completely and meanwhile vacuumizing continuously to thoroughly discharge air in gaps in the rattan cane; and heating, vacuumizing, releasing vacuum, carrying out impregnation, vacuumizing again, and carrying out impregnation again, then taking out the modified rattan cane and cooling the modified rattan cane in a dryer. By the method, the moisture absorption rate and water absorption rate of the modified rattan cane are greatly reduced, the problem that the rattan cane goes moldy and corrodes easily and easily recovers after being shaped during processing and using of the rattan cane is solved, and therefore, the additional value of the rattan cane and related products is increased.
