Abstract

The invention discloses a surface-modified metal-coated optical fiber and a preparation method and a preparation system thereof. The surface-modified metal-coated optical fiber sequentially comprisesa bare optical fiber, a middle modified layer and a metal coating from inside to outside. The bare optical fiber comprises a fiber core and an optical fiber cladding and has an optical waveguide function; the middle modified layer is a coating formed by silica sol particles, and the particle size of the silica sol particles ranges from 80 nm to 120 nm. According to the invention, silica sol particles are introduced between the bare optical fiber and the metal coating, so that molten metal can be better attached to the outer surface of the bare optical fiber; and meanwhile, the formed middle modified layer has a loose structure, and can effectively buffer the pressure stress generated by mismatching of the thermal expansion coefficients of the metal coating and the bare optical fiber, thereby achieving the effect of reducing the transmission loss of the metal-coated optical fiber.
