Abstract

To provide an imaging apparatus that prevents an image picked up by an XY read type solid-state imaging device from being distorted and suppresses the quantity of generated noise due to a leak of light into a pixel circuit. A transfer transistor and a reset transistor are turned ON to reset accumulated charges in a photodiode and the potential of a floating diffusion portion, and the photodiode begins to be exposed (timing T12).
