The method comprises the following steps of: dissolving food-grade ammonium citrate in de-ionized water, heating the de-ionized solution to dissolve the ammonium citrate completely, and filtering the solution; adding a certain mass of iron hydroxide powder into filtrate, heating the solution to 85 to 90 DEG C and stirring for 54 to 55min till the solution becomes thick paste; drying the thick paste in an oven at the temperature of between 70 and 75 DEG C, obtaining the ammonium ferric citrate by sieving and packaging the dried product, and measuring the ferric content of the ammonium ferric citrate.
