Embodiment 1

[0018] Add 0.12 g of AuPt / dolomite (Au0.5wt%, Pt2wt%) catalyst, 1 g of 1,2-propylene glycol, 1.2 g of NaOH, and 10 ml of water into a stainless steel autoclave with a polytetrafluoroethylene lining inside. The temperature was raised to a reaction temperature of 40° C. using an automatic temperature controller, and 1.2 MPa oxygen was added to react for 9 hours, keeping the pressure constant during the reaction. The reaction product was analyzed by HPLC, and the reaction results are shown in Table 1.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing lactic acid by catalytic oxidation of 1,2-propylene glycol. The 1,2-propylene glycol can be catalyzed with high efficiency and high selectivity to synthesize the lactic acid by using a gold-based catalyst and using oxygen or air as an oxidant. The operation conditions are mild, the conversion rate of the 1,2-propylene glycol reaches 92 percent, and the selectivity of the lactic acid is 99 percent.
