The method comprises the following steps: (1), grinding crude medicinal material of clinopodium polycephalum into superfine powder with 350-500 meshes, adding with water being 3 to 5 times of superfine powder in amount, adjusting the PH value to range from 5.0-6.5 by using acetic acid, heating and extracting under heat preservation; (2), performing residue-liquid separation to obtain filtrate; (3), adding the medicinal residue with water being 2 to 3 times of the medicinal residue in amount, adjusting the pH value to range from 8.0-8.5 by using sodium bicarbonate, hearing and extracting under heat preservation; (4), performing residue-liquid separation to obtain filtrate; and (5), merging the filtrates, and drying the mixture in vacuum at low temperature to obtain dry extract. By adopting the extraction technology, the effective components of clinopodium polycephalum are retained without being damaged, the extract yield is increased by more than 35% in comparison with that of a conventional method, and the energy consumption is lowered.
