By high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint spectrum measurement and analysis on the salvia miltiorrhiza medicinal material, 5 characteristic peaks of the salvia miltiorrhiza medicinal material are determined, and the common characteristic peaks constitute fingerprint features of the salvia miltiorrhiza medicinal material and can serve as the control fingerprint spectrum of the salvia miltiorrhiza medicinal material. The salvia miltiorrhiza medicinal material needing identification can be compared with the control fingerprint spectrum to inspect the situation of the common characteristic peaks so as to identify quality.
