Abstract

The invention discloses application of acetic acid and a salt thereof. Acetic acid and the salt thereof can be applied to preparation of medicines for preventing or treating ethanol induced gastric mucosal lesion, and the salt is a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. Acetic acid can be used for activating the specific acceptor GPR43 of acetic acid and inhibiting inflammation reaction, and the signal path is the key of anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation of acetic acid. Acetic acid serving as a histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) can be used for regulating gene expression, inhibiting inflammation reaction, and promoting expression of MUC5AC and IL-10 by GPR43 or by inhibiting HDAC so as to enhance mucosal defense and reduce inflammation and oxidative damage. Acetic acid can be used for reducing ethanol induced gastric mucosal lesion by resisting inflammation and oxidation and promoting expression of MUC5AC.
