Abstract

A preparation method for the high-expansion low-shrinkage bentonite comprises the following steps: I, air-drying and screening a natural bentonite sample; II, adding a proper amount of water into the natural bentonite until target moisture content is reached; III, sealing and curing the prepared natural bentonite for 8 hours or above; and IV, uniformly mixing the natural bentonite with the nano silicon oxide in a set mass ratio. High-expansion low-shrinkage bentonite is obtained through the steps. According to test detection, inner pores of the bentonite can be filled with the nano silicon oxide, so that size of montmorillonite crystals in the bentonite is increased, and expansive potential of compacted bentonite is increased.
