Abstract

According to the method, a light signal of a scintillator is simultaneously led to two silicon photomultipliers, the light signal is converted, amplified and shaped by the two silicon photomultipliers andthen input to a pulse time discrimination unit, and the output pulse of a measurement system and the dark pulse of the silicon photomultipliers are identified through time discrimination. By using themethod of the invention, the dark pulse rate of a measurement system using a silicon photomultiplier under the background can be reduced by three to four orders of magnitude, and the minimum detection limit of the measurement system can be reduced.
