Embodiment 1

[0016] Weigh 0.5g of anhydrous lithium carbonate and dissolve it in 20ml of ultrapure water to obtain modified solution 1. The pretreated CeSi was impregnated into modification solution 1 for 4 h, then filtered and washed with ultrapure water. The resulting filter cake was dried at 120° C. for 8 hours and then calcined at 500° C. for 8 hours. The obtained solid was pressed into tablets for use, labeled as CeSi-Li, and used in Examples 5-10.

Abstract

The invention relates to a novel catalytic system which takes methyl alcohol and phenol as raw materials to efficiently synthesize 2,6-xylenol under a gaseous phase condition. In the system, through afirst main group element, cerium-silicon catalyst is modified. Under the same condition, the percent conversion of the phenol is improved to 100%, the yield of the 2,6-xylenol is improved to 98% from25%, and in addition, the service life of the catalyst is prolonged to more than 3000 hours from original less than 24 hours after modification.
