Abstract

The invention relates to a circuit device for an input protection circuit of a switching power supply and the switching power supply. The circuit device has a surge protection circuit which is in contact with supply voltage on the input side and a current compensation choke is used as a suppression component and is connected with the surge protection circuit. The current compensation choke is connected to a rectification circuit comprising an energy storage device on an output side.
