Abstract

The invention discloses an ATRP ester-based amide block polymer modified polycarboxylic acid water reducer and a preparation method thereof. The water reducer is mainly prepared by the following polymerization steps: a first polymerization step: under certain conditions, mixing unsaturated ester monomers, amide monomers, ligands, a catalyst, an emulsifier and water, adding the mixture into a three-neck flask with a mechanical stirring device, controlling the temperature to be 60-80 DEG C, continuously stirring, and dropwise adding an initiator to prepare an ester-based amide modified block polymer I; and a second synthesis step: controlling the temperature at 65-80 DEG C, adding a mixed solution of a polyether macromonomer and water to the ester-based amide modified block polymer I, carrying out a reaction, carrying out heat preservation, adding an alkali liquid to adjust the pH value of the system to about 10, and cooling to obtain the polycarboxylic acid water reducer. The polycarboxylic acid water reducer prepared by the invention adopts ATRP active polymerization, the rate is controllable, the compatibility with cement is better, the shrinkage rate of acted concrete is small, the slump is well maintained, and the performance is superior to that of traditional free radical polymerization.
