Various embodiments of the present invention relate to devices for dental surgery and more specifically to dental implant and abutment mating system comprising a dental implant secured in the mouth of a patient and an abutment secured to the dental implant, wherein the dental implant and abutment comprise anti-rotational and taper locking elements.

An improved arch bar for dental surgery is formed from a strip of malleable material. The strip is the shape of a right angle having a splint portion and a retainer portion. A series of apertures extend through the splint portion and the retainer portion with the longitudinal edges of the strip being continuous and smooth. The present invention is a method of achieving fast onset of pain relief for acute pain in a patient in need thereof comprising orally administering a unitary formulation (or oral dosage form) containing an effective analgesic amount of (a) oxycodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (b) ibuprofen or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Preferably, the unitary formulation contains (a) oxycodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (b) ibuprofen or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof at a weight ratio of from about 1:20 to about 1:100 and more preferably about 1:40 to about 1:80, based on the weights of molar equivalents of oxycodone hydrochloride and ibuprofen, respectively. Preferably, an amount of oxycodone and ibuprofen effective to provide partial or complete pain relief within 30 minutes is administered. More preferably, the amount is sufficient to provide partial or complete pain relief within 25 minutes. It has been discovered that administration of an oral dosage form containing both oxycodone and ibuprofen provides earlier onset of pain relief than administration of either active ingredient alone. Moreover, the earlier onset of pain relief may be attributable at least in part to administration of a single dosage form containing both active ingredients as opposed to administering oxycodone and ibuprofen in separate oral dosage forms (i.e., administration of a first dosage form containing oxycodone and a second dosage form containing ibuprofen). The preparation method is as follows: first applying the method of freezing in directional movement to the colloidal dispersion system containing a ceramic precursor to solidify a dispersant under control and along with a regulated direction and applying a vacuum drying process to get the directional orifice dried gel containing ceramic precursors and implementing the heat treatment on the dried gel to get the directional orifice carbide biological ceramic material. The invention greatly improves the homogeneity of the components in the material, thereby expanding the scope of application of the product. The present invention provides an injectable gel-type bone-repairing bioactive material and its preparation method. Each unit dose of said material is composed of 1 ml of component A and 45 to 55 mg of component B, wherein each milliliter sterile saline of component A contains: 10 to 40 mg alginate, 0.1 to 1 mg bone morphogenetic protein, and 10 to 20 mg stabilizer. In the component B, each milligram (mg) of component B contains: 0.0498 to 0.1476 mg aqueous-indissolvable calcium compound, 0.0498 to 0.2953 gluconolactone, 0.0040 to 0.0159 mg polyvinylpyrrolidone and some bulking agents. Said material has good biocompatibility, which can be applied simply and safely. It can be implanted into a specific treatment site of orthopedic patients without operation. Animal experiments show that the osteogenesis activity of said material is comparable to those solid bone-repairing materials containing identical doses of bone morphogenetic protein, which need to be implanted by surgery. It is applicable for reparation of bone fracture, bone nonunion, and bone defect, as well as for the treatment of diseases in orthopedic surgery and dental surgery.
