The invention provides a shopping system for a wheelchair bound shopper comprising a wheelchair configured for use by the shopper, wherein the shopper is at least partially bound to the wheelchair and a motorized shopping cart for pulling itself and a wheelchair bound shopper in a store. The shopping cart comprises a base having a bottom side and a top side positioned oppositely to the bottom side of the base. At least three wheels are fixed to the underside of said base. Further provided is a basket attached to the top side of the base. The basket has a front, a back positioned oppositely to the front, and two sides positioned between the front and the back of the basket. A motor attached to at least one of the at least three wheels, the motor operating to propel at least one of the at least three wheels when actuated. The shopping cart also provides a handle attached to the back of the basket. The handle has a holding portion by which the shopper holds and maneuvers the shopping cart. The handle has a switch whereby the shopper actuates the motor of the shopping cart to move the shopping cart. At such actuation, the shopping cart moves forwardly and pulls the wheelchair bound shopper also. By such action, the wheel chair bound shopper is able to shop in a store though bound to a wheelchair using said shopping cart.

A garment/device/support system, system and method for a wheelchair bound person includes one or two sleeves that are worn on the arms. The sleeves are connected by straps to a chassis or vest worn on the torso. The straps are affixed using Velcro or other fasteners that transfer motion of the wearer's arms to the chassis or vest. Motion, energy and stimulation are transferred to muscle groups, viscera, organs, and body parts in other parts of the body through the motion of the arms as the user moves about in the wheelchair. An exercising device is described that permits exercising the arms and/or legs of a person, such as a wheelchair-bound person. The device has a drive shaft to which foot pedals are mounted. A transfer board for assisting in moving a wheelchair bound person from a wheelchair to a bed or similar support includes a flat elongated lightweight board with a smooth upper surface. The board is comprised of two sections; one being narrower than the other so that it can fit onto the seat of a wheelchair. A pair of rigid handles extend upwardly from the sides of the wider section of the board so that a person sitting on the board can grasp the handles and push downwardly on them in order to move his or her body across the board. An examination assembly advantageous for use with wheelchair bound patients comprises a rotatable stand which receives medical equipment, an arm assembly mounted on the stand comprising a main arm connected to the stand and an auxiliary arm operatively connected to the main arm, a table which mounts at least part of the medical equipment having a table area and an underside, and an S-bracket connecting the auxiliary arm to the table such that the auxiliary arm is remote from the table. The auxiliary arm is above the table and the S-bracket comprises a mounting flange, an underside flange and a linking flange connecting the mounting flange to the underside flange. Fasteners connect the underside flange to the table.

A method and apparatus for rotating a wheelchair on a motorized rotatable platform comprising providing a motorized rotatable platform comprising a stationary bottom plate and a rotatable top plate supported by a central conical bearing assembly and a circular ring thrust bearing, wherein rotation of the top plate is accomplished by an electric motor/gearbox assembly fastened onto the top plate, driving the wheelchair onto the motorized rotatable platform, anchoring the wheelchair to the top plate and switching electrical power from the wheelchair's electric motor to the electric motor/gearbox assembly, rotating the wheelchair to a desired position using the wheelchair's controls, and disengaging anchoring of the wheelchair and switching electrical power back to the wheelchair's electric motor, and driving the wheelchair off the platform.
