An element Chinese character coding input method and a corresponding keyboard are disclosed, and English and key 5 of the digital keyboard are used to input; 136 elements are sampled, each character is divided to acquire elements, strokes before, between or after components not composing elements are called non-element strokes, and each element or non-element stroke is called a part; characters without elements are divided by each stroke, and each stroke is regarded as a part; element pronunciation code (D) and first stroke shape number code (S) or only the first stroke shape number code (S) compose codes of said part; the first stroke shape number code corresponding to the key position is the total number of the strokes having same stroke shapes of the element or non-element strokes contained in the element or non-element strokes; the first part coding of characters, brevity code characters and words respectively are D1.1+S1.1, S1.1+D1.1, and S1.1+D1.1, codes of characters and words are compatible and recognize each other. The invented method has a small memory capacitance and low duplication-code ratio, is easy to learn, and is used to input Chinese characters for computers, cell phones and fixed telephones.
