Embodiment Construction

[0031] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be described in further detail below in conjunction with specific embodiments and with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0032] The present invention utilizes a simple integrated optical element—a micro-ring resonator (Micro-Ring Resonator, MRR), to realize an optical modulator with an encryption function. The basic structure of the invention is a micro-ring resonator, which is made by silicon-based nanowire waveguide.

[0033]The optical encryption modulator is composed of two microring resonators, and has two inputs, one is a plaintext electric pulse sequence, the other is a key electric pulse sequence; the output is a ciphertext optical pulse sequence. It simultaneously completes the modulation function of electro-optical conversion and the encryption function of XOR operation.

Abstract

The invention discloses a silicone-based integrated optical encryption modulator. The optical encryption modulator is realized by two nanowire MRRs (Micro-Ring Resonators) and comprises two input ends and an output end, wherein the input ends are used for respectively inputting a plaintext electronic pulse sequence and a key electronic pulse sequence, the output end is used for outputting a ciphertext optical pulse sequence, and the output ciphertext optical pulse sequence can directly enter into an optical fiber to transmit. The invention has the remarkable advantages that the functions of encryption and modulation are simultaneously completed by using a single device, and small size, low power consumption and good expansibility of the device are realized due to the adaptation of a traditional process technique, thereby facilitating the integration of electrical components. Moreover, the silicone-based integrated optical encryption modulator is particularly applied to occasions which are sensitive to size, power consumption and cost.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of optical fiber communication, in particular to a silicon-based integrated optical encryption modulator. Background technique [0002] In computer and communication networks, encryption is an important means to protect information from eavesdropping and interference. In the current commonly used network technology, encryption is often implemented in the computer through software. This approach has two disadvantages. One is that it will increase the burden on the computer. When the amount of data to be encrypted is large and requires real-time transmission, the encryption operation will often consume a large amount of computer resources, slowing down the encryption process and affecting information transmission. The second is that this kind of software encryption method inside the computer is often cracked by hackers by invading the user's computer, thus completely losing the encryption function. [0003] ...
