Abstract

The invention provides a halogen-free fire-retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate composite material and a preparation method thereof. The halogen-free fire-retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate composite material has good fire resistance and mechanical properties, does not contain halogens, is environmentally friendly, does not precipitate, has a light color and can be processed easily. The halogen-free fire-retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate composite material comprises 50 to 75wt% of ethylene-vinyl acetate, 12 to 24wt% of an organic phosphate, 6 to 10wt% of a melamine compound, 6 to 10wt% of a polyol, 0 to 4wt% of a polysiloxane, and 0.5 to 2wt% of a silazane coupling agent. Through compounding of the organic phosphate, the melamine compound and the polyol and combined utilization of the polysiloxane as an assistant fire retardant, the halogen-free fire-retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate composite material is prepared. The halogen-free fire-retardant ethylene-vinyl acetate composite material has obviously improved fire resistance and mechanical properties, does not contain halogens, is environmentally friendly, does not precipitate, has a light color and can be processed easily.
