Abstract

The invention relates to a manufacturing process of a step drill for processing rivet holes of automobile brake pads. The manufacturing process comprises the following steps of: (1) connecting a cutter arbor made of tool steel and a cutter head made of YG6 hard alloy into an integral cutter by brazing; (2) placing the cutter into a mixed solution of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid to perform pretreatment in an ultrasonic cleaning way; (3) placing the cutter after pretreatment onto a workbench of a reaction chamber, keeping the cutter arbor vertical, upwards placing the cutter head, and respectively arranging two tantalum wires after carbonization treatment on each of the two sides of the cutter head; and (4) performing core formation and growth treatment on the surface of the cutter head in the reaction chamber, and finally depositing a layer of diamond thin film on the surface of the cutter head of the cutter.
