The invention provides a traditional Chinese medicine composition for promoting lactation of postpartum mares, which comprises the following feed raw materials: ginseng, white peony root, angelica, ophiopogon root, fiveleaf akebia, balloonflower and radix rehmanniae. By using the treatment principles of dredging collaterals, promoting the circulation of qi and nourishing the blood, the composition has the advantages of reasonable formula, simple preparation technique and wide application range. The composition is prepared from pure Chinese medicinal herbs, and thus, has the advantages of wide sources, low cost, high cure rate, no drug residue and no toxic or side effect; and especially, superfine grinding maximally destroys the plant cell walls, so the composition overcomes the defects of high coarse fiber content and difficulty in leaching effective components in the traditional medicinal powder, and can be absorbed by horses more easily.
