Abstract

Provided is a resin composition which is obtained by subjecting a vinyl monomer mixture (A) to a polymerization reaction in the presence of an acid-modified polyolefin resin (B); the vinyl monomer mixture (A) has a glass transition temperature as calculated using the Fox equation of -5°C to 45°C, and contains, as essential components, a vinyl monomer (a1) having a phosphorus atom and one or more vinyl monomers (a2) selected from among the group consisting of ethyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate, and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate. The resin composition is characterized in that the mass ratio of the vinyl monomer mixture (A) to the acid-modified polyolefin resin (B) [(A) / (B)] falls within the range 99 / 1-60 / 40. This resin composition exhibits high adhesion to a plastic and to an overcoat film and can produce a coating film having excellent water resistance, and can therefore be suitably used in a primer coating material.
