Abstract

The method as shown in the appended drawing, comprises a laser diode (LD), a polarization division multiplexing dual-parallel mach-zehnder modulator (PDM-DPMZM), an optical bandpass filter (OBPF), a photoelectric detector (PD), a microwave orthocoupler (Hybrid) and a microwave power divider. According to the method, a pair of orthogonal up-converters are established through utilization of the PDM-DPMZM and the OBPF; upper-conversion is carried out on orthogonal intermediate frequency (IF) signals through local oscillator (LO) signals; and after the signals pass through the PD, radio frequency (RF) signals with upper side bands or lower side bands are obtained.
