The coating comprises a substrate layer, a first transition layer, a second transition layer and a surface layer which are sequentially arranged from bottom to top. The preparation method includes the steps as follows: pretreatment is performed on the innersurface of the automotive cast aluminum cylinder block; the substrate layer is arranged on the inner surface of the cast aluminum cylinder block through powder spraying by the aid of high-speed flames in advance, and then the substrate layer is obtained through laser cladding; and the first transition layer, the second transition layer and the surface layer are prepared in the same manner. The ZrSiC surface coating has the high strength, the creep resistance, the high bending strength, the excellent oxidation resistance, the good corrosion resistance, the high abrasion resistance, the low friction coefficient, the sufficient thermal fatigue and the sufficient mechanical strength.
