Embodiment

[0088] An optical disc produced according to the present invention, and its initial reflectance and measurement of signal reproduction characteristics will be described below.

[0089] First, a polycarbonate substrate having a thickness of 1.2 mm was produced by injection molding.

[0090] Then, a solution prepared by dissolving a cyanine-based photosensitive organic dye in tetrafluoropropane was coated on a polycarbonate substrate by spin coating. A coating approximately 40 nm thick was thus formed on the polycarbonate substrate.

[0091] Radio frequency (RF) sputtering was done on the obtained structure by using a silicon target, argon and nitrogen to form a 5 nm thick transparent Si 3 N 4 membrane. The amounts of argon and nitrogen used were 32 sccm and 8 sccm, respectively. The total gas pressure is 3 mTorr, and the RF power is 60 mW.

[0092] Then, nitrogen was replaced with oxygen and reactive sputtering was performed. A transparent SiO with a thickness of 25nm 2 ...

Abstract

A dielectric portion (4) of an optical disc comprising a nitride layer (7) and an oxide layer (8) placed one on top of the other, is formed on the data recording layer (3). A light transmissive layer (5) is bonded on the dielectric part (4) with an adhesive. Since the dielectric part (4) is interposed between the data recording layer (3) and the light transmissive layer (5), the organic material of the data recording layer (3) does not diffuse to bond the light emitting layer to the dielectric part (4 ) in the binder. Therefore, the data recording layer (3) is not degraded due to oxygen plasma generated during processing to form the oxide layer (8), since the oxide layer (8) is placed on the nitride layer. Since the nitride layer has a thickness of 10 nm or less, it does not affect the light enhancement effect.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an optical disc comprising a light-transmitting layer and a data-recording layer, wherein light can be applied to the data-recording layer through the light-transmitting layer, thereby recording data on and reproducing data from the data-recording layer. Background technique [0002] Optical discs have been widely used. Each optical disc includes a data recording layer, a reflective layer disposed one above the other, and the like. Light may be applied to the data recording layer to record data. In order to record as much data as possible on each optical disc, an attempt has been made to increase the recording density of the optical disc. [0003] The density of data recorded on each disc can be increased in two ways. First, a laser beam having a short wavelength is applied to an optical disk placed in a recording / reproducing apparatus. The second type, an objective lens having a large numerical aperture (hereinafte...
