The invention provides a middleware system for interactive value-added service based on an IP set-top box. A first application layer comprises a signaling service control module and an apolegamic functional module; the signaling service control module provides reversible transmission protocols for information transmission and communication service, and the apolegamic functional module provides functional support for application service. A second application layer builds and processes the messages of the interactive application service; the messages include a message head and a message body; the message head contains message type information, session attribute information and at least one of the following information: equipment attribute information, capacity description information and auxiliary parameter information; the message body includes service logic and/or service content of the application service. A dynamic scalable interface description layer comprises an interface for the second application layer to access to the first application layer. The second application layer acquires corresponding functional supports of the application service from the signaling service control module and the functional module.
