skin treatment apparatus and a driving method thereof are disclosed. A
skin treatment apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a
skin accommodating cap having an open lower surface and a cavity therein; an
electrode pair provided such that, when a target portion of skin is suctioned toward the cavity of the skin accommodating cap, the suctioned skin comes into contact within the cavity of the skin accommodating cap, the
electrode pair being disposed to face each other in a first direction; a driving unit configured to drive a pressing plate so that the pressing plate can advance into and retreat from an inner direction of the cavity; a controller for controlling the driving unit; and at least one pressing plate which is driven by the driving unit so as to be able to advance into the cavity from a second direction different from the first direction and which increases an area of contact with the
electrode pair by pressing inward the skin suctioned into the cavity.
