The porous materials is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 30-50% of sludge, 30-50% of gangue, 10-30% of shale, 2-8% of natural zeolite, 0.2-1.5% of dolomite, 0.2-1.5% of sodium carbonate and 0.2-0.8% of ferric oxide; the preparation method of the sludge porous material comprises the steps of raw material processing, granulating and drying, and ceramsite firing; the porous materials which is porous, high in specific surface area and lightweight can be prepared by taking an organic matter in municipal sludge as a gas generating bulking component of the porous material and the sludge of printing and dyeing as well as papermaking which has the characteristic of abundant fiber component as a pore filling agent, and therefore, the sludge is utilized efficiently, the problem of recycling the sludge is solved, and the product can be applied to a plurality of fields such as building materials, chemical engineering, land reclamation and packings; in short, the development of economic construction is promoted while the sludge is utilized.
