Abstract

The invention provides a method for introducing an exogenous gene to a rice cell of a japonica rice variety 8m30. Concretely, the exogenous gene is introduced to the cleistogamous japonica rice variety 8m30 through agrobacterium-mediated transformation. A specially-made culture medium and a conversion method better than a conventional mediation method are adopted in a genetic transformation process. PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) detection and identification prove that the exogenous gene is introduced to the 8m30. The method is used for successfully realizing the genetic transformation of the cleistogamous japonica rice variety, and can be used for avoiding gene drift caused by outward pollen spread while accelerating a character improving process.
