[0038] Example 1 Plutella xylostella ovum laying stage measurement

[0039] 1. Research object

[0040] The research object of this embodiment is the population of Plutella xylostella for several generations raised in the laboratory.

[0041] 2. Method

[0042] Utilize the bait base for laying eggs described in the present invention to lure Plutella xylostella xylostella to lay eggs, and count the length of the early stage of laying eggs.

[0043] 2.1 Preparation of spawning bait base

[0044] Add 1 g of agar powder into 45 ml of distilled water, sterilize by high-pressure steam at 120° C. for 30 minutes, and cool to 45° C. for use. In the above-mentioned liquid agar culture medium, add 5ml distilled water, kanamycin 50ul (50mg / ml), stir quickly evenly, use the glue head dropper to distribute in the culture dish of diameter 3cm, every dish 5ml, cool and solidify at room temperature to obtain containing Spawning bait base for repellent substances.

Abstract

The invention relates to research on insect behaviors. Through adding approach-avoidance substances needed by a test into a liquid agar medium, an oviposition bait medium which can be used for studying the influences exerted by the different approach-avoidance substances on the oviposition behaviors of the diamondback moths is prepared. An enclosed environment is created for adult diamondback moths, and the oviposition bait medium is placed for the adult diamondback moths to lay eggs. The oviposition bait medium is replaced timely according to needs, and data is counted. Oviposition behavior data such as oviposition approach-avoidance of the diamondback moths for the approach-avoidance substances or the diamondback moths with different concentrations, oviposition early-stage durations, oviposition time rules and the like can be obtained according to the data. The oviposition bait medium has quite good thermal melting performance, can provide certain humidity, can have a smooth surface at a room temperature state, and can provide space support for the adult diamondback moths. The method can be applied to statistics of various parameters of the oviposition behaviors of the diamondback moths under different conditions, studies the approach-avoidance of the diamondback moths in an indoor environment for the different substances, and provides a novel research method for a field insect control scheme.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of insect behavior research, in particular to the research on egg-laying behavior of diamondback moth. Background technique [0002] Plutella xylostella is a common pest of cruciferous crops. It first occurred in the Mediterranean region and is now widely distributed all over the world. Cabbage caterpillar is the number one killer of cruciferous vegetables. Plutella xylostella has a very strong reproductive ability. Under natural conditions, each female can produce 150-400 eggs, which can rapidly expand the population. It also has a strong selectivity for the host, showing avoidance to different plants. For crops with high isothiocyanate content, such as mustard and cabbage, they show special preference, and on different hosts, the spawning characteristics are also different, some are scattered, and some are piled. The oviposition behavior of P. xylostella is closely related to the population development of P. xylo...
