Abstract

The invention discloses a hydrogen storage and release method and a hydrogen storage and release system based on a magnesium-based hydrogen storage material. The method comprises the following steps:(1) carrying out melting electrolysis on magnesium chloride to generate liquid metal magnesium and chlorine; (2) carrying out gas atomization on the liquid metal magnesium to form magnesium metal powder; and (3) carrying out a hydrogenation reaction on the magnesium metal powder to generate magnesium hydride. The system comprises a melter, an electrolytic cell and a magnesium hydride preparation device, wherein the melter is arranged to be capable of melting magnesium chloride, the electrolytic cell is arranged to electrolyze molten magnesium chloride into liquid magnesium metal and chlorine,and the magnesium hydride preparation device is arranged to atomize the liquid magnesium metal through argon to form magnesium metal powder and react the magnesium metal powder and hydrogen to generate magnesium hydride.
