The invention provides the method for simultaneously producing ethanol and carboxylic acid, which can be used for obtaining ethanol-type acidified fermentation liquor simultaneously containing ethanol and carboxylic acid only by simply carrying out self-fermentation on fruit and vegetable wastes which are not sterilized under a certain condition. When the method is used for fermenting for 300h, the contentsof ethanol, acetic acid, butyric acid and lactic acid in the ethanol-type acidified fermentation liquor can be respectively up to 27.5 g / L, 8.23 g / L, 0.54 g / L and 0.5 g / L. The ethanol-type acidified fermentation liquor is obtained by fermentation of the method; wherein the COD equivalent ratio of the ethanol to the carboxylic acid is (4-7): (10-12), so that the ethanol type-acidified fermentationliquor obtained through fermentation by the method can be directly used for fermentation production of caproic acid after anaerobic sludge is inoculated, no additional ethanol is required to be addedas an electron donor, and the caproic acid fermentation cost is greatly reduced.
