Breast pump device with self-contained breast milk reservoir

The present invention is a compact and hands-free human breast milk collection device that fits into a mother's existing nursing or standard brassiere. The invention can be attached to a conventional electric or manual pump for active milk collection and also can be used without a pump for passive milk collection. Additionally, the invention can be used for collection of hand-expressed milk. The invention comprises a breast adaptor which, in an embodiment, has at one end a funnel-shaped inlet coupled to a reservoir, wherein when the breast is inserted into the breast adaptor, the breast milk is expressed into the reservoir through a unique valve assembly and the milk is stored in the reservoir until the device is removed and the collected milk emptied into a container. In an embodiment, the valve assembly is mounted concentrically on a second end of the breast adaptor. The valve assembly alternately opens and closes communication between the breast adaptor and the reservoir. The valve assembly further includes an overflow chamber and a baffle structure to prevent backflow of milk into the pump and associated vacuum or suction line. The invention, in an embodiment, also includes a unique connection apparatus that enables the vacuum hose of the disclosed breast milk collection device to be sealingly attached to a vacuum hose of varying sizes attached to a vacuum pump mechanism.

The present disclosure relates generally to a composition for feeding an infant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to a nutritional composition for feeding an infant comprising a stem-cell deficient first component and a second component comprising breast milk stem cells (BSCs). The second component is added to the first component, and the BSCs partially or fully replenish the stem-cell deficient first component with respect to BSCs. In some embodiments the first component is stem-cell deficient human breast milk and the second component comprises BSCs from the infant's mother's own milk. The compositions of the present disclosure have been developed primarily as a personalized, nutritional composition providing the beneficial effects of an infant's mother's own BSCs to the infant while not being able to receive the full benefits of being breastfed directly.
The present disclosure also relates to a composition for feeding an infant and to processes of their production. In particular, the disclosure relates to a composition for feeding an infant comprising a first and a second component, wherein the first component provides the majority of the nutritional value to said composition, and wherein the second component comprises at least one live bacterium from human breast milk or the lactating human mammary gland. The disclosure has been developed primarily as a composition for feeding a mother's own infant, wherein the composition comprises processed human breast milk with a substantially reduced live bacterial cell count as compared to unprocessed breast milk but which at least one live bacterium, from the mother's own breast milk, is added such as to partially or fully replenish the processed human breast milk with respect to the at least one live bacterium. More particular, the composition is a personalised composition for feeding the mother's own preterm infant.
The present invention also related to the combination of BSC and bacterial replenishment as described herein.

Cleaning and disinfection device for breast pump

The invention relates to a cleaning and disinfection device for a breast pump. The cleaning and disinfection device comprises a rod body, wherein a cleaning brush head is arranged at a first end of the rod body; the device further comprises a length adjusting mechanism and an optical disinfection module, wherein the length adjusting mechanism is connected with a second end of the rod body, and the optical disinfection module is arranged in the rod body; and the rod body is provided with a light transmitting structure for emitting disinfection light sent out by the optical disinfection module out of the rod body. When the cleaning and disinfection device for the breast pump is used, parts of the breast pump are brushed through the cleaning brush head, and the disinfection light sent out by the optical disinfection module is used for sterilizing and disinfecting. Compared with a traditional steam or water-boiling disinfection manner, ageing of the parts is not prone to cause and the service life of the breast pump can be prolonged. Human breast milk contains a lot of fat, so that a lot of fat are easily remained in the parts after the breast pump is used, a friction force between the parts is possibly reduced, and the parts are prone to slip and a suction force is influenced. By adopting the cleaning brush head, the parts of the breast pump can be conveniently brushed and the remained fat is cleaned.
