An apparatus for managing plasma in wafer processing operations is disclosed which includes a housing having an internal region defined by an inner wall. The housing has an input port for supplying a plasma into the housing at a first end and an output port at a second end. The apparatus includes a hollow tube contained in the internal region within the housing. The hollow tube is defined by a wall that extends between the first end and the second end and contains a plurality of orifices generating a plurality of fluid paths through the wall. A fluid input is included supplying fluid into the internal region of the housing. The supplied fluid is capable of passing through the plurality of orifices, and the plasma supplied through the input port is capable of being mixed within the hollow tube with the supplied fluid. The output port at the second end of the housing enables the mixed plasma and fluid supply to exit the housing.

A search system for a tool. A border cable separates inner and outer areas. A generator feeds the border cable with current, whose magnetic field affects a sensing unit on the tool, and the sensing unit emits signals to a control unit that directs the tool's motion. The current contains at least two components of different frequency. A search cable is placed within the inner area so that it separates a search area, and is fed by a signal generator with an adapted current (e.g., the current direction alternates to be either in phase or out of phase in relation to the current direction in the border cable) so that the magnetic fields in the different areas provide at least three patterns. Accordingly, the control unit can separate the inner, outer, and search areas.

The separator includes a gas purification chamber inside which a rotatably mounted centrifugal rotor is arranged. The gas purification chamber has a crude gas inlet, a pure gas outlet, and an oil outlet. The crankcase ventilation gas can be conducted into a radially internal zone of the centrifugal rotor via the crude gas inlet, while pure gas that is liberated from oil mist can be discharged from the gas purification chamber via the pure gas outlet, and oil separated from the gas can be discharged from the gas purification chamber via the oil outlet. The separator further includes a rotary drive for the centrifugal rotor. The rotary drive is disposed in a drive chamber of the separator, can be operated using pressurized lubrication oil of the internal combustion engine, and is connected to the centrifugal rotor by means of a shaft extending from the drive chamber into the gas purification chamber, from which the drive chamber is separated. The rotary drive is formed by at least one thrust nozzle which is connected to the shaft and to which the pressurized lubrication oil of the internal combustion engine can be fed. The separator includes at least one part of a base that forms the separation between the gas purification chamber and the drive chamber and extends into the drive chamber, the part of the base being fitted with a seat for a bearing of the shaft. The bearing is located at a distance from the centrifugal rotor.
