Embodiment 1

[0036] Haicheng magnesite in Liaoning has a magnesium carbonate content of 98.5% and is crushed to an average particle size of less than 100μm. Use a muffle furnace to calcinate at 750°C for 2h, take out 80g of powder cooled to 200°C, add 250g of water, 50g of concentrated ammonia, and 2g of polyvinylpyrrolidone to obtain slurry.

[0037] Transfer the above-mentioned slurry to a 500ml resin ball mill tank, and use 500g of 6mm diameter calcined magnesia ball mill for 4h at a speed of 400r / min to form a slurry to be crystallized.

[0038] Transfer the above slurry to be crystallized into a 500ml pressure container lined with polytetrafluoroethylene and crystallize at 200°C for 6 hours;

[0039] The above-mentioned reacted slurry is suction filtered at room temperature, washed with deionized water 3 times, washed with industrial ethanol once, and dried in an oven at 120° C. for 3 hours to obtain the target magnesium hydroxide.

Embodiment 2

[0042] Mix 1 kg of the above-mentioned calcined powder, 0.4 kg of sodium hydroxide, 0.05 g of polyvinyl alcohol and 4 kg of water;

[0043] Transfer to SX-30 type agitating ball mill, use 5kg of 6mm diameter calcined magnesia ball mill for 8h, power of 2kw, to form slurry to be crystallized.

[0044] Transfer the above slurry to be crystallized into a 10L stirred reactor and crystallize it at 180°C for 10 hours,

[0045] The above-mentioned reacted slurry is suction filtered at room temperature, washed with deionized water 3 times, washed with industrial ethanol once, and dried in an oven at 120° C. for 3 hours to obtain the target magnesium hydroxide.

Abstract

The invention provides a method for preparing submicron flaky magnesium hydroxide from magnesite. The method comprises the following steps: 1) roasting smashed magnesite so as to obtain roasted magnesite powder; 2) mixing the roasted magnesite powder, alkali, a dispersing agent and water at a weight ratio of 1: (0.1-20): (0.001-0.1): (1-50) so as to obtain slurry; 3) carrying out mechanochemistry processing on the slurry in the step 2 so as to obtain the slurry to be crystallized; 4) placing the slurry to be crystallized from the step 3) in a reaction kettle, and carrying out self-press hydrothermal crystallization at the temperature of 60-250 DEG C; and 5) carrying out solid-liquid separation, washing and drying on the slurry crystallized in the step 4 so as to obtain the submicron flaky magnesium hydroxide powder. In the invention, the submicron flaky magnesium hydroxide is prepared by using the method, thereby reducing production cost; chemical salt byproducts are not generated by the process, thus the method is a clean production process; and the submicron flaky magnesium hydroxide is widely used in the fields of inflaming retardant materials, catalytic carriers and other functional materials.

Description

Invention field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of fine chemical material preparation, and specifically relates to a submicron flake magnesium hydroxide. It can be widely used in many fields such as materials, chemical industry, environment and medicine. It is made of magnesite through crushing-roasting-mechanochemical treatment-hydrothermal crystallization treatment. Background technique [0002] Magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH) 2 ) Belongs to the hexagonal crystal system and can grow into crystals of various sizes and morphologies according to the crystallization conditions. Submicron magnesium hydroxide is widely used in many fields such as materials, chemical industry, environment and medicine. Especially when submicron flaky magnesium hydroxide is used as a flame retardant, it has an appropriate decomposition temperature (623K) and a large heat absorption. It not only has the functions of flame retardancy, smoke suppression and filling, but also does not prod...
