Embodiment 1

[0085] Coarsely ground capers powder and water were slurried at a ratio of 1:5 at 28°C. Add this slurry to slightly alkaline boiling water. Let it boil for a while to dissolve the xyloglucan. Precipitate xyloglucan with 70% ethanol. The precipitate was separated by centrifugation to provide pure xyloglucan.

Embodiment 2

[0087] The capers pit powder was slurried with water at 28°C. This slurry was added to neutral boiling water in a ratio of 1:5. Bring it to a boil and keep it there for a while. Precipitate xyloglucan with alcohol.

Embodiment 3

[0089] Capers kernel powder was slurried with water at a ratio of 1:10 at 28°C. Add this slurry to acidic boiling water. Bring to a boil and keep.

Abstract

The present invention provides a transparent Xyloglucan / Chitosan gel and a process to prepare the same which comprises of extracting the xyloglucan from tamarind seed powder by a suitable solvent at a high temperature and precipitating the xyloglucan by alcohol and then modifying the xyloglucan to form dialdehyde and making a co-polymer with chitosan to form a thermo stable crystal clear, colourless gel which is stable at temperature -20 to 90 DEG C. A transparent chitam gel and a process for the preparation thereof C and pH 3-7, having an average molecular weight of 4730 KDa and a viscosity of 4100 centi Poises at 28 +-2 DEG C, not digested by digestive enzymes in humans and does not contribute to calorie intake can be used as a food ingredient, and supplement functional foods (nutritional care). This Xyloglucan / Chitosan gel has applications in the area of cosmetic and personal care products, as an ultraviolet protective agent or as a tissue adhesive which can be used, including haemostasis, wound sealing, tissue engineering or localised drug delivery as capsules & tablets.

Description

field of invention [0001] The invention relates to a new transparent Chitam gel and a preparation method thereof. The present invention specifically relates to a completely transparent, colorless, non-toxic, biodegradable, biocompatible gel derived from xyloglucan and chitosan copolymers, hereinafter referred to as chitam gel. The present invention also relates to an improved method for preparing said athermoreversible gel using a copolymer of modified xyloglucan and chitosan. The method is simple, cost-effective, and scalable. The gel can be used in various applications such as make up cosmetics or base cosmetics such as face wash, milky lotion, cream or foundation, giving it excellent elasticity and aging stability, providing a refreshing feeling without stickiness And has excellent usability as a UV protector or as a tissue adhesive that can be used, including hemostasis, wound sealing, tissue engineering or topical drug delivery as capsules & tablets, and can also be use...
