[0087] Thick film samples for demonstrating microholograms and recording reflectivity after writing microholograms were prepared as follows. Preparation of 1 g of PVCm (prepared in E-2) doped with 0.04 mol of a triarylmethane dye (e.g. ethyl violet chloride salt) and 4 wt% (40 mg, relative to polymer) of the mediator diphenylmethane 10% by weight solution of ketone in dichloromethane:dichloroethane (9:1). The solution was filtered through a 0.45 micron Whatman syringe filter. The solution was then solvent cast onto (5 cm x 5 cm) pyrex glass by loading the solution onto a circular glass frame.
