Problems solved by technology

Due to the slow drying of the water-based gravure ink composition during the gravure printing process, the yield of gravure printing is greatly reduced, thereby limiting the production of high-volume printing
In addition, the inherent cost of producing aqueous ink compositions is high compared to ink compositions using organic solvents
In particular, drying issues, which limit high-volume gravure printing production, became a problem

preparation example Construction

[0059] In an example of preparing PUD disclosed here, 0.5 wt% of triethylamine (TEA, produced by Junsei Chemical Co., Ltd.) was used as a neutralizing agent. In this preparation, the neutralization step included the process of introducing a neutralizing agent, specifically adding triethylamine to the prepolymer, followed by stirring for 30 minutes.

[0060] An emulsifier was introduced into the composition after the neutralization step to obtain a PUD, namely PUD1, with improved compatibility with methanol.

[0061] Examples of emulsifiers may include alkyl phosphate, ammonium (POE) alkyl aryl ether sulfate, sulfosuccinate, sodium sulfosuccinate (sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate) and its analogues. In this example, 0.97% by weight of sodium sulfosuccinate (DO113L, manufactured by Dongnam Whasung Co. Ltd.) was used as an emulsifier.

[0062]More specifically, as previously stated, in a further embodiment, by introducing an emulsifier into the composition (primary composition), t...

example 1-1

[0081] In the case of Example 1-1, where the methanol content was 10 wt%, in the drying performance test (after 120 mesh gravure printing, ink transfer was determined based on each drying condition (temperature×time)) the ink composition was found to be transferred to the printed Surface (wet, not completely dry). Correspondingly, in order to achieve fast drying, preferably, based on 100 parts by weight of the PUD containing the emulsifier, the content of methanol is 54 parts by weight to 128 parts by weight. More specifically, methanol is included in the total ink composition in an amount ranging from 30 wt% to 45 wt%.

[0082] In Table 3, dryness 1 was measured after the ink composition was dried in an oven at 45° C. for 35 seconds, and dryness 2 was measured after the ink composition was dried in an oven at 60° C. for 30 seconds. The conditions used for the drying performance test also apply to the following specification. Initial viscosity was determined by using a Brook...

Abstract

The present invention relates to an aqueous gravure ink composition for a PVC sheet, which is gravure-printed on a PVC sheet on which printing is to be performed. The ink composition according to the present invention comprises: methanol; a polyurethane dispersion (PUD) containing an emulsifier for compatibility with the methanol; a thickener; silica; and a pigment. According to the present invention, an ink composition is rapidly dried during gravure printing, and thus gravure printing productivity is improved, and since the ink composition is an aqueous ink composition, environmental pollution caused by the use of an organic solvent, or harmful effects on the human body can be prevented.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an ink composition for gravure printing, that is, a gravure ink composition. In particular, the present invention relates to a gravure ink composition for printing a PVC (polyvinyl chloride) layer, and a PVC decorative layer using the composition. Background technique [0002] Gravure printing refers to a printing process in which printing ink is transferred to the surface of a film, which is the substrate to be printed, when a metal cylinder is rotated. In gravure printing, the intensity of color is determined by the depth of the dips or recesses, and the type of color is determined by the number of cylinders used throughout the process. The printing medium (substrate to be printed) provided for gravure printing is usually in the form of a roll or a film, that is to say in the form of a layer. Gravure printing is suitable for high-speed and high-volume printing up to photographic reproduction quality levels. [0003] Ink co...
