Model-based grayscale registration of medical images

Numerical image processing of two or more medical images to provide grayscale registration thereof is described, the numerical image processing algorithms being based at least in part on a model of medical image acquisition. The grayscale registered temporal images may then be displayed for visual comparison by a clinician and/or further processed by a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for detection of medical abnormalities therein. A parametric method includes spatially registering two images and performing gray scale registration of the images. A parametric transform model, e.g., analog to analog, digital to digital, analog to digital, or digital to analog model, is selected based on the image acquisition method(s) of the images, i.e., digital or analog/film. Gray scale registration involves generating a joint pixel value histogram from the two images, statistically fitting parameters of the transform model to the joint histogram, generating a lookup table, and using the lookup table to transform and register pixel values of one image to the pixel values of the other image. The models take into account the most relevant image acquisition parameters that influence pixel value differences between images, e.g., tissue compression, incident radiation intensity, exposure time, film and digitizer characteristic curves for analog image, and digital detector response for digital image. The method facilitates temporal comparisons of medical images such as mammograms and/or comparisons of analog with digital images.

A computer implemented method and system for training a machine to identify a target within video data, the method comprising the steps of providing a training data set including identified labelled targets within video data having the same target within different video views. Generating, using a learning model, a bounding box action policy for determining required adjustments to a bounding box around a target in the video data by: generating a bounding box around a labelled target within a first view of the video data. Converting the target bounded by the bounding box to a quantitative representation. Determining a matching level between the quantitative representation and a quantitative representation of a further labelled target within the video data from a second view different to the first view. Looping the following steps one or more times, the looped steps comprising: using the bounding box action policy to determine an action to change the bounding box. Applying the determined action to change the bounding box to a new bounding box. Converting the target bounded by the new bounding box to a new quantitative representation. Determining a further matching level between the new quantitative representation and the quantitative representation of the labelled target within the video data from the second view. Applying a reward to the learning model to adjust the bounding box action policy based on an improvement in the matching level.

Online monitoring and adjustment and control method for single phase compensation status of arc-extinction loop system

The invention relates to an on-line monitoring and controlling method for single-phase ground compensation state in an arc suppression coil system, which can effectively estimate compensation state of the system according to relative phase relation between negative sequence component I2 of failure current of a failure line and inductance current IL of an arc suppression coil, and can correctly regulate the arc suppression coil, in order to lead the system into a resonance state; through comparing I2 with a threshold value, the resonance state can be effectively estimated and ensure that the electric arc is reliably extinguished. After the system in the resonance, the change of the run mode can be effectively estimated according to the change of zero sequence current IN0 of the failure line under the standard voltage, when IN0 is changed, the run mode is changed, the compensation state can be effectively estimated after the run mode is changed according to the IN0 before changed and the IN0 after changed, and the arc suppression coil can be correctly regulated again to lead the system into a new resonance state. The on-line monitoring and controlling method dose not need to on-line measure earth capacitance of a distribution system, which reduces the regulation of the arc suppression coil during normal operation and contributes to safe operation of the system, and the load symmetry can not affect the effectiveness of the method at the same time.
