Abstract

The preparation method comprises pretreating hair as a raw material through a NaOH aqueous solution and carrying out two-step modification and compounding on the treated hair respectively through formaldehyde and dimethylamine to obtain a quaternary ammonium salt-containing modified keratin adsorbent having appearance the same to the original hair. Compared with the prior art, the modified hair keratin cation adsorbent can be used in the field of printing and dyeing wastewater treatment. The preparation method has a high removal rate of an anionic dye in the printing and dyeing wastewater. A test result shows that the modified hair keratin adsorbent has an anthraquinone dye active brilliant blue KN-R adsorption capacity of 537.6 mg/g about more ten times that of nonmodified hair keratin fibers.
