The invention discloses a water-based oil pigment which comprises the following components in parts by weight: 40-70 parts of water-based resin, 0.4-1 part of a silane coupling agent, 15-20 parts of acrylic emulsion, 8-16 parts of ethyl maltol, 25-55 parts of a pigment, 2-5 parts of a thickener, 0.3-0.8 part of a preservative, 0.5-1.2 parts of rosin powder, 10-15 parts of zeolite powder, 0.2-0.5 part of oxgall, 1-5 parts of methyl allyl methacrylate, 1-5 parts of ethylene glycol, 0.6-1.5 parts of plant incense essential oil and 150-280 parts of distilled water. The invention further provides apreparation method of the water-based oil painting pigment. The preparation process of the water-based oil painting pigment is simple, and the obtained water-based oil painting pigment has the advantages of being good in adhesive force, not prone to falling off and short in drying time.
