Abstract

The invention provides a method for synthesizing Gd3Ga5O12(GGG) transparent ceramic nano crystals, which mainly comprises the following steps: weighing Gd2O3 and Ga2O3 in strict accordance with a stoichiometric ratio; dissolving the Gd2O3 in a dilute HNO3 solution and dissolving the Ga2O3 in a mixed solution of concentrated HNO3 and concentrated HCl; uniformly mixing the solutions of the two components to obtain a clear and transparent mixed solution; adding ammonia into the mixed solution, adjusting the pH value of the mixed solution to between 2 and 4, dripping NH4HCO3, controlling the pH value at the end of the reaction to be between 7 and 10 to obtain a precipitate; and subjecting the precipitate to vacuum filtration, washing, drying at a constant temperature and calcining to obtain the GGG ceramic nano crystals. The method is simple in process, low in temperature for synthesizing nano powder, energy-saving, and low in equipment requirement; and the synthesized nano crystals are near-spherical, small in granularity, high in purity and good in dispersivity and are ideal precursor powder for preparing the GGG transparent ceramic. The method provides the GGG ceramic nano powder excellent controllability and feasibility of batch preparation.
