Problems solved by technology

[0004] However, the alcohol-water-based composite ink prepared with polyacrylate as the resin binder is mainly suitable for BOPP plastic film substrates and alcohol-soluble laminating adhesives due to the weak polarity of polyacrylate molecules. When used on PET plastic film substrates , the adhesion is poor, and the compatibility with the ester-soluble laminating adhesive is poor, and the composite strength is low; while the alcohol-water composite ink prepared with polyurethane as the resin binder is mainly suitable for PET plastics due to the strong polarity of the polyurethane molecule. When the film substrate and ester-soluble laminating adhesive are used on BOPP plastic film substrate, the adhesion is poor, and the compatibility with alcohol-soluble laminating adhesive is poor, and the composite strength is low
[0005] However, if the alcohol-water-based composite ink prepared with polyacrylate as the resin binder is simply mixed mechanically with the alcohol-water composite ink prepared with polyurethane as the resin binder, the general-purpose plastic gravure composite ink prepared will be different due to the combination of the two resins. The huge difference in the molecular structure of the binder leads to a significant reduction in printing performance

Abstract

The invention relates to intaglio printing ink for plastic and especially to high-performance alcohol/water-based printing ink and a preparation method thereof. The high-performance alcohol/water-based printing ink comprises polyurethane grafted polyacrylate copolymer prepared through a reaction between polyacrylate with hydroxy groups and polyurethane perpolymer with isocyanate as its end group, alcohol/water-soluble acrylic acid ester copolymer, alcohol/water-soluble polyurethane resin, organic/inorganic pigments, a dispersant, an adhesion promoter, polyethylene wax and a mixed solvent. According to the invention, excellent performance of the polyurethane grafted polyacrylate copolymer enables the intaglio alcohol/water-based printing ink for plastic to have good alcohol/water-solubility and solvent release; introduction of polyurethane and synergism of the polyurethane grafted polyacrylate copolymer allow the ink to have good adhesive force on a variety of plastic film substrates (BOPP, PET, PA, PVC, PE, PC, etc.); the ink has a good printing effect, strong adaptability, adapting to a variety of laminating adhesives (ester soluble type and alcohol soluble type) and high bonding strength and can be used for printing of various plastic substrates; the ink is cheaper and environment-friendlier compared to pure polyurethane printing ink and has better performance and stronger printing adaptability compared to pure acrylic acid ester copolymer printing ink; the ink provided in the invention has a wide application prospect in the field of intaglio printing for plastic.
