Disclosed is a preparation method of CO2-based lubricant base oil. Polyatomic alcohol, low-molecular-weight carbonic dialkyl ester and aliphatic mono-alcohol are used as raw materials. The preparation method includes multiple steps: firstly, subjecting the low-molecular-weight carbonic dialkyl ester and the aliphatic single-methanol to ester exchange reaction under action of an alkali catalyst; secondly, adding the polyatomic alcohol into a product obtained in the first step to carry out secondary ester exchange reaction so as to obtain a rough product; and finally, refining the rough product by absorbents. The preparation method has the advantages that the preparation method is simple, easy to operate and implement, can be completed on mild conditions, has low requirements for equipment; the raw materials are clean and nontoxic, three-waste pollution in production is avoided, and environmental protection is achieved; the CO2-based lubricant base oil prepared by the method has clear structure and good controllability, good lubricity and thermal oxidation stability, and can be applied to lubrication fields such as engine oil, gear oil and rolling oil.
