Abstract

The invention discloses a strain of Penicillium fungus M1 and application thereof to increase of saponins yield in a fermentation process of ginseng or American ginseng, and belongs to the technical field of biotechnology. According to the invention, functional fungus is used for fermentation cultivation of ginseng or American ginseng; the content of saponins before and after the fermentation are analyzed and compared; and finally a bacterial strain capable of significantly increasing saponins yield in the fermentation process of the two herbs is obtained. The strain is identified as Penicillium fungus (Penicillium sp.), and named after Penicillium fungus M1, and has a preservation number of CGMCC NO.6359. The strain can be used in fermentation production of ginseng or American ginseng; and the content of saponins in fermentation products fermented by the strain is greatly improved. Therefore, according to the present invention, Penicillium fungus has broad application prospects in increasing saponins yield in the fermentation process of ginseng or American ginseng.
