The preparing method includes the steps that a water solution containing zinc sulfate, 4-methoxy benzoic acid, 2,2'-dipyridyl, formic acid and sodium hydroxide is put into a sealed reaction kettle to be subjected to hydrothermal reaction, the product is cooled to room temperature and filtered, and obtained filter liquor is volatilized and crystallized to obtain zinc (II) coordination polymer single crystal.
