Abstract

A manufacturing method of glass mosaic plate is provided to save manufacturing time and process distinctively and express natural colors by printing on glass, breaking glass and joining broken pieces of glass by heat unlike a conventional method joining pieces of glass of regular shapes. The glass mosaic plate is manufactured by the following steps of: (i) printing on a transparent glass with glass paints; (ii) firing the printed glass at 430-640deg.C to form a marble pattern on the glass; (iii) firing firstly fired glass at 600-740deg.C for 4-10min according to thickness; (iv) quenching for 3-6min under 200-300mAq of air pressure; (v) attaching asbestos, board and cloth to one side of cooled glass plate; (vi) applying impacts on a point of the glass with a sharp tool; (vii) thermal treating the broken pieces of glass at 650-850deg.C for 15-30min to form smooth mosaic lines. The glass paints are prepared by the following the steps of: mixing one coloring-metal oxide selected from Cr2O, CaO, SeO2 and MnO with metal oxides such as SiO2, PbCrO4, B2O3 and Na2O3; firing and grinding to powder; preparing a molten material, acrylic resin, by adding resin or acryl to solvent or thinner; and mixing prepared acrylic resin with the mixed oxide powder in a ratio of 6-10 : 1.
