Abstract

The invention discloses stainless steel for a cutter and a manufacture method thereof. The steel comprises the following chemical components in percentage by weight: C:0.20-0.65, Si:0.10-0.50, Mn:0.10-0.60, P:0.010-0.030, S: 0.005-0.015, Cr: 14-17, Nb: 0.01-0.30, Ti: 0.005-0.025, W: 0.50-1.50, Al: 0.005-0.30 and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities and also satisfies that the valent weightof Cr is 14.14-17.41, and the valent weight of Ni is 6.30-19.63. The manufacture method comprises the following steps: making steel in an induction furnace, casting ingot moulds, rolling in a reversing mill, cooling in a pile, thermally treating, and the like. A cutter made of the steel does not disintegrate, keeps durable sharpness and is suitable for manufacturing a kitchen cutter, scissors anda surgical knife. The manufacture method has excellent performance, simple production operation, easily controlled product quality and low cost.
