Abstract

The light source comprises a pump source used for generating pump light, a gas workroom containing a gain medium and a resonant cavity. The gain medium is a mixed gas formed by a sodium atomic gas and an inert gas together. An excimer formed by the mixed gas is provided with a resonance absorption peak at 589nm and an absorption satellite peak with a wavelength less than 589nm. The wavelength of the pump light is aligned with the absorption satellite peak and pumps the sodium atom and inert gases to a high energy state, and then a sodium atom with the high energy state is generated through decomposition. Under the effect of the resonant cavity, when the sodium atom with high energy state jumps to a ground state, 589nm laser is irradiated. The laser is aligned with a resonant absorption peak of the atomic sodium, and a light source is provided for the sodium laser guide star. According to the light source, there is no complex frequency locking and linewidth control systems, the structure is simple, and the working medium has the advantages of long service life and recycling.
