Abstract

The invention discloses a composite material for rolling bearings and an application of the composite material. The composite material is prepared from 70%-90% of one of silicon nitride, zirconia, silicon carbide and aluminum oxide, 5%-27% of molybdenum sulfide and the balance adhesives, wherein the molecule of the molybdenum sulfide is MoSx, and x ranges from 0.1 to 2. The composite material can be used for manufacturing the rolling bearings and components of the rolling bearings, ensures high hardness and contact fatigue strength of the rolling bearings, and has good abrasion resistance and impact toughness; the self-lubricating effect can be achieved due to reduction of the friction coefficient instead of using lubricating agents additionally, so that the wear rate of the rolling bearings is greatly decreased; the composite material can be widely applied to foodstuff processing machines, pharmaceutical machines, aviation machines and other fields not suitable for adopting lubricating agents.
