A high-performance backfilling material for a buried pipe heat exchanger is prepared by utilizing industrial tailings so as to have higher thermal conductivity, better fluidity, water retention and slight expansion and stronger impermeability. The ground source heat pump drilling backfilling material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 1.0 part of portland cement, 0-0.3 part of fly ash, 0.1-0.3 part of steel slag micropowder, 0-0.01 part of a defoamer, 0.05-0.15 part of an expansive agent, 0.05-0.15 part of bentonite, 0.002-0.020 part of a water reducing agent, 1.0-3.0 parts of a steel slag fine aggregate and 0.27-0.60 part of water. The preparation method has remarkable economic, social and environmental benefits and is simple in steps, convenient to operate and strong in practicability.
